A mobile eye health unit under Sightsavers supported programme Amrita Drishti Urban Eye health programme

A mobile eye health unit under our Sightsavers supported programme Amrita Drishti Urban Eye health programme has been launched by Ms. Priyanka Das, IAS, MD National Health Mission, Madhya Pradesh. The van will provide eye checkup facility to the primary health centres including UPHC, CHC and HWCs of Bhopal City. The mobile unit will be operated jointly by Sightsavers India and AARAMBH. Along with refraction and cataract screening, Diabetic Retinopathy and Glaucoma test facility will be provided through this mobile Van. The van was flagged off by Mr. Krishna Kumar Rawat, CEO, NHM. After flag off, a comprehensive camp has been organised in collaboration with HWC of Panchsheel Nagar area. Along with eye check-up, routine health check-up has also been conducted. Spectacle has also been provided to the persons identified with refractive error. Total 185 person screened, out of which 106 found with refractive error, have been provided with spectacle. 11 persons identified with cataract, referred to District Hospital for further treatment.
