AARAMBH Madhya Pradesh in Partnership with Alliance for Immunization and Health (AIH), New Delhi is empoweringthe community to Improve the Nutritional Status of Women and Children, through the promotion of key practices by enhancing the knowledge at the community level in five districts of Madhya Pradesh namely Bardwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Sheopur and Shivpuri.
Adequate nutrition is essential for human development. Malnutrition refers to deficiencies, or imbalances in the intake of energy, protein and/or other nutrients. A review of trends in economic growth, health, and nutrition indicates that the MP is undergoing rapid socioeconomic, demographic, nutritional, and health transitions. Undernutrition continues to be persistently in MP and remains a challenge. Some of the major nutritional challenges in MP are High levels of child undernutrition, affecting almost in villages, High levels of maternal undernutrition, leading to low birth weight, Inappropriate and sub-optimal infant and young child feeding and caring practices, and low awareness regarding nutrition and use of local nutritious food including sources of nutrients.
AARAMBH with the support of AIH, UNICEF and WCD Department focusing on the awareness activities in all five Districts through various Awareness Drive in the local villages and block level through PoshanMaah Activities, Mushkan Express Activities,School Intervention, VHND Poshan corners, Nukkard Natak and the development of Village Level PoshanMitr in all Five Districts.
